		<description>I agree that when clients share their spiritual and/or religious beliefs, a door opens which allows a counselor to see what strengths and resources the client can use to cope with life &quot;events&quot;. This also involves some risk taking on the part of the client which definitely deepens the therapeutic alliance if this information is integrated appropriately. Also, thank you Lindsay for the book idea!</description>

		<description>I&#039;m not a religious person, but I have learned through experience that clients who discuss their spiritual beliefs during sessions enable us to deepen the therapeutic alliance and level of insight.  My graduate school provided no training in this area unfortunately, however I have learned through opening to the experience.  Thank you for the idea about writing a spiritual autobiography.</description>
